I remember having read once that the shortest discrete action man has measured lasted two attoseconds. What is so amazing about this is that an attosecond is to a second as a second is to the age of the universe. To see the actions measured in attoseconds you can go to:

I would like you to spend a little time considering this length of time because it points to something of astronomical importance and pertinence - the eternal present.
People tend to think of God as something that is infinitely large - a being for whom a billion years are but a second.
When considering God, perhaps we should consider things like the attosecond. Perhaps God is not to be found "out there and infinitely large." Rather than the infinitely large, God, or the Source of Being, is to be found in the infinitely short period of time that is "the eternal present."
- Two books by Scott Adams, God's Debris and the Religion Wars have strongly influenced this idea and it is possible that my idea could just be a restatement of one of Mr. Adam's ideas. The synthetic opiates being pumped directly into my cerebral-spinal fluid have interesting effects on my thinking. I have come up with ideas that I believed were mine only to find that they came from a book that I read five years ago and that I forgotten completely.
